If you travel for work or performances, you probably need your laptop. if you don't already, GET A WIRELESS CARD! it will save you $ immediately, and save you time later! theyre not expensive. SO HERE's THE DEAL: Airports ( & now the Hotels, damnit!) seem to fall into 2 catergories: I call them FI's and PI's. 1) FI~FREE INTERNET AIRPORTS: they lavish wireless connectivity as a complimentary service to all the people who have graciously decided to patronize the airport and the airlines serving it. 2) PI~PAID INTERNET AIRPORTS: these predatory animals have allowed private companies to come in and squeeze the already overtaxed traveler with access to vital information for an exorbitant fee. Most commonly anywhere from $3.95-$5 each 15 minutes. Most NORMAL people cant justify that highway robbery, so they suffer either in boredom from overdelayed flights & layovers or inconvenience in arranging next-side travel arrangements, etc. THE SOLUTION: FI's are no problem. click and go. PI's have "SOFT SPOTS" where the bastards can't block access. These are most frequently found at the private clubs of "ELITE" or "AWARDS" members, who, ironically, should be the ones PAYING for internet. SUMMARY: make camp just outside an Awards/Eilite/etc -style Private Club in the airport. (Most major Airlines have them now) Click on your wifi and get surfing for as long as you want.
